All projects require more effort than we think.
And they take longer than we think they will. That’s because we’re optimistic, which is a good thing.
I get asked questions daily about standing up an Inside Sales team or Digital Transformation or shifting to a 21st century mindset and my response is always the same (and no one has liked it, but it’s true)….you’re in for a three year journey.
That’s because nothing is done in a vacuum. When we change our sales motions, there is ALWAYS a ripple effect and an ongoing evolution. Job description, hiring profiles, onboarding, re-onboarding, interacting with the customer/prospect base, interactions between team and BU’s…..it all comes out. Updating CRM, tools, messaging, skill traits….it all comes out and get re-tooled.
Have a plan. Be prepared. Adapt. Give yourself the gift of time to process and be sure to do retrospectives.
